My brother's dissertation defense ......and GABRIEL!

My brother successfully defended his dissertation in the fields of Spanish and Second Language Acquisition this morning.  Afterwards, we scooped up his son Gabriel and went out for a family lunch.  Maybe I'm biased because he's my nephew, but man o man - Gabriel is the CUTEST (and he's bilingual!)!  Congrats Rob and Yesennia!!

Question: What do you do when Mama cuts your hair? Answer: (Frowny face)

Lovely Lumina!

Today's family shoot was AMAZING!!  Lumina is so sweet and beautiful and her parents are UNBELIEVABLE at yoga.  Somewhere in the middle of the shoot, we were all transported to a world where physics and gravity no longer applied.  And I loved having siblings, mom, spouses, and baby to work with.  What a great way to spend a Friday!!  

 

 And then things got incredible...

Baby Zeke turns two!

A casual coffee and gnosh turned out some fantastic family shots of Sandra, Craig, and baby Ezekiel.  I love how you can feel the lushness of spring in all that green.  Zeke started a garden with tomatoes and sweet peppers and was all too sweet about it.  :)

Sophia turns 3 months old!

This was my first true family session, and man was it humbling.  Sophia was a DREAM.  Fortunately, she was ready to work with me, even though I never did get a smile.  Next time, Sophia - next time.  :)

A beach trip with Tommy and Jared

I love heading down to the beach on that first balmy spring day.  It was early March for us in Tallahassee and me and the boys had a great time.

There was, in fact, no complaining from me - especially after the fish was released!  :)

Emily's graduation

Emily is my best friend and a tremendous sport.  She successfully completed her PhD in 18th Century Literature in May 2010 (way to go Emily!).  Her athleticism and willingness to look silly in public made for some spectacular graduation photos!
